Mina Ahmad is a Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker, film festival coordinator, photographer, and writer building a multihyphenate creative career. With experience in documentary filmmaking and multimedia journalism, her debut narrative short Daagh (Stained) is her foray into fiction.
Mina works in Market Programming at TIFF: The Market. She has previously worked in programming and programming coordination at the Forest City Film Festival, and as Creative Director and Video Producer for the Western Gazette. Mina graduated with gold medals from Western University's Media, Information, and Technoculture (MIT) and Film Studies programmes.
When she’s not developing her next script or storyboarding for her next project, Mina shares her cinematic perspectives through her film review column Commuter Critic on Substack.
